Bill Clinton: Obama "Played The Race Card On Me"...

The Huffington Post Posted: 04/30/2008 5:12 am EDT Updated: 05/25/2011 12:30 pm EDT

In a radio interview posted Monday, Bill Clinton claimed that Barack Obama's campaign has "played the race card on me." (Scroll down for audio). According to ABC News, Clinton was

"talking to station WHYY about the fallout over his comparison of Obama's South Carolina primary victory with the support of black Democrats to Jesse Jackson's primary wins. Those comments were portrayed by critics as an attempt to highlight Obama's race."

Clinton told the interviewer that "you have to really go some to play the race card on me." Clinton then lists the reasons why no one should portray him as a racist. He includes the fact that he has an "office in Harlem, and Harlem voted for Hillary, by the way." He goes on to say, "I have 1.4 Million people around the world, mostly people of color... on the world's least expensive AIDS drugs...."

At the very end of the interview, when Bill thinks he is no longer on the line, you can hear him saying, "I don't think I should take any shit from anybody on that, do you?"

Listen to the interview below:

*Update:* Obama was asked about Clinton's comments on WHYY today:

The Politico has the full exchange:

"Hold on a second, so former president Clinton dismissed my victory in South Carolina as being similar to Jesse Jackson and he's suggesting that somehow I had something to do with it? Ok, well then you better ask him about it," Obama said.

He was asked if, as Clinton said, his campaign had a secret plan to use race.

"Was there something that we had a plan to get him to say that my campaign was like Jesse Jackson's? I don't know what he is referring to unfortunately," he said, laughing.

*Update:* Questioned about the comments later in the day, Bill Clinton denied making them, and castigated the media for making hay over the issue. "I'm not going to play your games," he said. Full transcript below.

NBC/NJ: "Sir, what did you mean yesterday when you said that the Obama campaign was playing the race card on you?"

CLINTON: "When did I say that, and to whom did I say that?"

NBC/NJ: "On WHYY radio yesterday"

CLINTON: "No, no, no. That's not what I said. You always follow me around and play these little games, and I'm not going to play your games today. This is a day about election day. Go back and see what the question was, and what my answer was. You have mischaracterized it to get another cheap story to divert the American people from the real urgent issues before us, and I choose not to play your game today. Have a nice day."

NBC/NJ: "Respectfully sir, though, you did say ..."

CLINTON: "Have a nice day." [continues shaking hands with supporters]. I said what I said, you can go and look at the interview. And if you'll be real honest, you'll also report what the question was and what the answer was."

NBC/NJ: "They asked you if you regretted your comparing Jesse Jackson to Barack Obama on the day after the South Carolina primary."

CLINTON: "And I pointed out that I did not do that, and that I complimented them both. And that Jesse Jackson took no offense. And I called him myself, I said, 'Did you find that offensive?' And he said no.

CIA review reportedly finds 'Top Secret' info in Clinton email

2 Hillary Clinton Emails Confirmed to Be 'Top Secret'

According to a report from The New York Times , a special intelligence review of two emails that Hillary Clinton received as secretary of state backs the inspector general finding that the emails contained highly classified information.

The special review conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency found that the emails, sent in 2009 and 2011 were "Top Secret." The Clinton campaign and State Department responded to the initial finding from the inspector general by questioning if the emails had been overclassified arbitrarily.

One email apparently pertained to North Korea's nuclear weapons program.

"It is not a surprise that other lawyers in the intelligence community would agree with [the inspector general]," a Clinton campaign official told NBC News.

Although Clinton's campaign statements about the emails have gradually evolved , she's continually denied sending or receiving any classified material.

More than 30,000 emails from Clinton's server are being released in batches, with the next due to be released Sept. 30 .

She is too stupid to realize that as the Secretary of State, her own words would be considered Classified. She has delayed and stone walled on so many issues. After Obama's "transparency" we done need even worst from her. Anyone else would be arrested by now.

Hillary Clinton offers first apology for private email server

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO CLOSE TO MELANIA
                                      (ummm tight fit)

Published September 09, 2015 FoxNews.com Clinton camp attempts to hit the reset button on campaign

Hillary Clinton offered her first outright apology for using a private email server while secretary of state, calling it a "mistake" in an interview that aired Tuesday.

"Even though it was allowed, I should have used two accounts. One for personal, one for work-related emails," she told ABC News. "That was a mistake. I'm sorry about that. I take responsibility."

The comments came just a day after Clinton told the Associated Press she did not need to apologize for her actions because "what I did was allowed." She earlier had said she was sorry only for the confusion caused by the issue.

At the State Department's request, Clinton has turned over 55,000 pages of work-related emails last year, while the FBI has also taken possession of the server after Clinton resisted giving up until last month.

When asked by ABC News if she could survive the ongoing FBI investigation, Clinton cited her lengthy existence on the political stage.

"As you might guess I've been around a while, lots of attacks, questions raised. I can survive it because I'm running to be president, to do what the country needs done," Clinton told ABC. "I believe the American people will respond to that."

But just as the interview aired, Clinton's apology already came under fire.

"The only thing Hillary Clinton regrets is that she got caught and is dropping in the polls, not the fact her secret email server left classified information exposed to the Russians and Chinese," RNC National Press Secretary Allison Moore said in a statement. "Hillary Clinton's reckless attempt to skirt government transparency laws put our national security at risk and shows she cannot be trusted in the White House."

Clinton became emotional after she was asked about her mother's influence on her campaign.

"She told me every day, you got to get up and fight for what you believe in no matter how hard it is," Clinton said. "And I don't want to just fight for me. I mean I can have a perfectly fine life not being a president. I want to fight for all the people like my mother who cares who needs somebody in their corner."

The former secretary of state restated her apology in a note to supporters on her Facebook page late Tuesday, but also called her use of a personal e-mail account "aboveboard and allowed under the State Department's rules.

"Everyone I communicated with in government was aware of it," Clinton added. Later in the note, she said, "I know this is a complex story. I could have-and should have-done a better job answering questions earlier."

Clinton's latest efforts to explain the private email server controversy has continued to sometimes overshadow her presidential campaign, with multiple polls showing a majority of Americans don't find her honest and trustworthy.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll, 61 percent of voters said they did not consider Clinton honest and trustworthy compared to 34 percent who did ascribe those qualities to her.

Clinton also has her status as the Democratic front-runner on the line, as the latest NBC News/Marist polls released Sunday showed Sen. Bernie Sanders with a 9-point lead over her in New Hampshire.

The polls also showed Sanders, a Vermont Independent, gaining ground on Clinton in Iowa.

The states -- Iowa and New Hampshire -- are the first and second, respectively, to hold 2016 primary vote, where the outcomes of those ballots often determine the future of the presidential campaigns.

Clinton, who called Obama's rogue nation diplomacy 'naive' in 2007, backs Iran deal

Published July 14, 2015FoxNews.com

Now Playing

Iran: Good Deal or Bad Deal?

Hillary Clinton endorsed the Iran nuclear deal on Tuesday as "an important step in putting a lid on Iran's nuclear program," in statements that marked a sharp departure from the 2008 presidential campaign when she blasted Barack Obama's stance on dealing with rogue powers like Tehran as "irresponsible" and "naïve."

House Democrats who met with Clinton on Capitol Hill, where she attended a series of meetings with lawmakers, described her as a strong backer of the controversial deal, with Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly describing her endorsement as "full throated."

In her public remarks, the former secretary of state's backing was more qualified. She warned that the agreement, which curbs Iran's nuclear program in exchange for billions of dollars in sanctions relief, would not end Iran's "bad behavior" in the Middle East and said Tehran would still pose a serious threat to Israel.

"This agreement will have to be enforced vigorously, relentlessly," Clinton said. "We have to treat this as an ongoing enforcement effort, which I certainly strongly support, and as president would be absolutely devoted to assuring the agreement is followed."

But she backed the deal and praised Obama for his work in reaching it. "I applaud [President Obama] and both Secretary Kerry and Secretary Moniz for their extraordinary efforts in bringing about this conclusion," Clinton said.

In a statement late Tuesday, Clinton again affirmed her support for the deal, saying, "I support this agreement because I believe it is the most effective path of all the alternatives available to the U.S. and our partners to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon."

But in 2007, Clinton lambasted Obama for his diplomatic stance. When Obama said he would be prepared to meet without precondition with leaders of rogue nations, including Iran, in the first year of his presidency, Clinton told the Quad City Times: "I thought that was irresponsible and frankly naïve."

In 2008, Clinton used hawkish language when asked in an interview what she would do if Iran attacked Israel.

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran," Clinton said. "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them."

The remarks drew fire from Obama, who said: "It's not the language we need right now, and I think it's language reflective of George Bush."

Clinton's backing of the deal comes amid scathing criticism by Republican presidential candidates, such as GOP frontrunner Jeb Bush who called the deal "deeply flawed and short sighted."

"The nuclear agreement announced by the Obama administration today is a dangerous, deeply flawed, and short sighted deal," Bush said. "A comprehensive agreement should require Iran to verifiably abandon -- not simply delay -- its pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability."

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said the deal could be a "death sentence for the state of Israel," while Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said it would be remembered as "one of America's worst diplomatic failures."

Meanwhile, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal appealed directly to Clinton to oppose the deal.

"Secretary Clinton should be a voice of reason and oppose this deal," Jindal said. "While Secretary Clinton has been the architect of President Obama's foreign policy, she can do the right thing and prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and oppose this deal."

Other Democratic presidential hopefuls also backed the deal, with former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb calling it "an important moment" and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., saying "the devil is in the details, but this is a significant step forward."

File it next to "Extinguishing 'Bimbo Eruptions' By Any Means Necessary" in the Bill and Hillary file, right next to the drawer containing the Leaves of Grass, leather hood and ball gag combo gift packs to be offered on those "special" occasions.

Watch this interview with Bill and Hillary from 1992, which is even years before Monica Lewinsky could /prove/ Clinton was lying (otherwise Hillary would have said /she/ was lying too). Women with sexual harassment complaints, "you have the right to be believed," unless of course those complaints are directed at the man who's still hauling the tattered, hypocritical coattails on which Hillary hopes to be dragged into the White House:

Juanita Broaddrick says Clinton raped her

Goes public with story about 20-year-old alleged attack

Published: 02/19/1999 at 1:00 AM

The woman known as Jane Doe Number 5 in Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr's impeachment report to Congress has gone on the record in an interview with the Wall Street Journal claiming that Clinton sexually assaulted her in 1978 when he served as attorney general of Arkansas.

In the first published account of the alleged incident, the former Clinton campaign worker describes a meeting in his hotel room in which Clinton held her down forcibly on a bed and bit her lips while engaging in sexual intercourse.

After the encounter, she says in Friday's edition of the Journal, Clinton told her not to worry because he was sterile. When she was leaving the room, he looked at her bruised face and, according to Juanita Broaddrick, said: "You better put some ice on that."

The account as told by Dorothy Rabinowitz of the Wall Street Journal, begins back on a day in 1978 when Attorney General Bill Clinton visited a nursing home owned by Broaddrick, who had been working on Clinton's campaign for governor. During this visit, Clinton invited her to come to his campaign headquarters whenever she was next in Little Rock.

As it happened, Broaddrick was in Little Rock for a nursing home seminar the following week and called the campaign headquarters to set up a meeting with Clinton. They arranged to meet for coffee in the cafe of the Camelot hotel where she was staying. Clinton pointed out that the environs were a bit noisy, according to Broaddrick, and recommended they adjourn to her room and have coffee there.

It was in the hotel room, after Broaddrick had rebuffed an advance by Clinton, that he got her onto the bed and forced her to have sex, she told the Journal in a detailed account.

Her friend, Norma Rogers, a nurse who had accompanied Broaddrick to the seminar, found her on the bed in what she described in an interview as a state of shock - her lip swollen, mouth bruised, and her pantyhose torn at the crotch. According to Rogers, Broaddrick repeatedly said, "I can't believe what happened," as she continued to lay stunned on the bed.

In an interview Friday with The Associated Press, Broaddrick said she never went to the police about the incident "because of the mentality of the '70s. There I was, I was married, I was also in a relationship with another man, and ... I was there alone in a hotel room with the attorney general and I didn't think anyone would possibly believe me."

Asked why she was telling her story now, she told AP that she was doing it to counter rumors that she had been bribed and intimidated to hush the account. Initially, she had signed a false affidavit after being approached by the Paula Jones lawyers, swearing that there was no sexual assault involved in the meeting between herself and Clinton, wanting to steer as far from the past as possible, but then came Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr's investigation.

Broaddrick's son, Kevin, advised his mother to recant her previous statements and tell the whole truth. "[T]his was another whole level," he said in an interview. "She knew it was one thing to lie in a civil trial so she could get away from all this, but another to lie to federal prosecutors and possibly a grand jury."

Thus, after working a deal of immunity with the independent counsel's office, Broaddrick recanted the version of the story contained in her previously signed affidavit, and told a different story - that the sexual advances by Clinton that day were far from consensual.

After years of avoiding the media - since 1992 when the first rumors of the story began to surface - Broaddrick decided to do an interview with NBC. The interview took place on January 20, but NBC, once in possession of the story, didn't seem to know what to do with it. As Broaddrick had heard, her interview was slotted to run on the January 29 episode of "Dateline," but didn't.

In fact, a significant stir was created over the interview when Anchor Tom Brokaw threatened to resign if the interview was aired. As NBC's Lisa Myers, who had interviewed Broaddrick, told her, "The good news is you're credible. The bad news is you're very credible."

It was after NBC had let her "hang out to dry," as Broaddrick termed it, that she turned to the Wall Street Journal to give her story.

White House Spokesman Joe Lockhart dismissed the story by alluding to the Journal's editorial page as having run spurious allegations of the President in the past. The president's lawyer, David Kendall, denied the story entirely, asserting that "Any allegation that the president assaulted Mrs. Broaddrick more than 20 years ago is absolutely false."

"Beyond that," Kendall concluded, "we're not going to comment."

As for NBC, the network is currently maintaining that it has not released Broaddrick's story, and will not, until it certain the story is solid - "[a] heartening testimony to the elevated standards of journalism that have now apparently seized the network," Rabinowitz editorialized in the Journal's account. NBC has declined to comment on any plans to air it.

About the president, Broaddrick says, "I don't have an agenda where he is concerned. I could care less what happens to the man." In an interview with the Washington Post published Saturday, she said she did not think it was wrong to keep silent in 1978, but wishes she had come forward in 1992.

And as for going public now, she told the Post, "I feel like I have gotten the biggest weight off my shoulders...."

Clinton: It's 'Ludicrous' to Suggest I'm Behind Birther Claims

Politics Sep 23 2015, 11:59 am ET

by Carrie Dann and Mark Murray

Hillary Clinton is blasting Donald Trump's "ludicrous" claim that she was the first to question President Barack Obama's birthplace.

"First of all, it's totally untrue. And secondly, you know, the president and I have never had any kind of confrontation like that," she said in an interview on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.

"That is so ludicrous," she told interviewer Don Lemon, who asked her about Trump's assertion that Clinton's 2008 campaign sparked the "birther movement."

Trump tweeted the claim - which has also been voiced by presidential candidate Ted Cruz --- on Tuesday night.

Just remember, the birther movement was started by Hillary Clinton in 2008. She was all in!

- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2015

During the bitter 2008 Democratic primary campaign, rumors raged that Clinton supporters were swapping email chains raising questions about Obama's heritage. A photo of Obama dressed in Somali garb was circulated to the Drudge Report, sparking suspicion that it was leaked by Clinton operatives.

Also, in 2007, then-Clinton adviser Mark Penn suggested in an internal campaign memo that the Clinton team highlight Barack Obama's "otherness."

"All of these articles about his boyhood in Indonesia and his life in Hawaii are geared toward showing his background is diverse, multicultural and putting that in a new light. Save it for 2050," he wrote, according to The Atlantic.

But while some of Clinton's backers outside the campaign may have pushed the theory that Obama was born outside the U.S., there is no evidence that Clinton or her aides authorized direct action to promulgate either Penn's ideas or rumors about Obama's birthplace.

Book Claims Hillary Clinton Had Explosive Oval Office Meeting With Obama Over Email Scandal: 'Call Off Your F***ing Dogs, Barack!'

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO CLOSE TO MELANIA
                                      (ummm tight fit)

Sep. 23, 2015 3:51pm Dave Urbanski

A new book by Edward Klein claims Hillary Clinton exploded at President Barack Obama during an Oval Office meeting over her emails, telling him to "call off your f**king dogs," the New York Post reported .

In this Jan. 25, 2013 file image taken from video and provided by CBS, President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton speak during "60 Minutes" segment in Washington. (Image source: AP)

The Post said it obtained an excerpt of the book, "Unlikeable: The Problem with Hillary," which is set to publish next Monday and indicates the former secretary of state believed Obama aides were behind leaks that led to multiple investigations of her. But her husband, former President Bill Clinton, reportedly didn't want her to meet with Obama.

During the meeting, according to the book, Obama acted as though he didn't know what Hillary was talking about. "He was almost being deliberately dense," a Clinton source noted, the Post added. "It really angered her."

This allegedly led to Clinton breaking with White House decorum - calling Obama by his first name - and dropping the F-bomb.

"What I want for you to do is call off your f**king dogs, Barack!" the book claims Clinton yelled at Obama, citing sources close to Clinton and Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, the Post said.

Apparently, the president was sufficiently shocked by Clinton's alleged outburst, so he needed a moment to compose himself.

"There is nothing I can do for you one way or another," he allegedly responded. "Things have been set in motion, and I can't and won't interfere. Your problems are, frankly, of your own making. If you had been honest -"

The book says Clinton cut off Obama - "There are always haters out there to get the Clintons" - and then later regretted her behavior, but only because of the weakness she showed.

Nick Merrill, Clinton's spokesman, told the Post that Klein's claims are "bulls**t."

"Another book? Someone should do a book about Ed," Merrill told the paper. "They could call it 'Bulls**t: The Problem With Anything Ed Klein Writes.'"

"The only true thing about him is his consistent and utter lack of a relationship with the facts," Merrill continued to the Post. "He has more hair than credibility, and the man is bald. So we're not going to get down in the gutter with him and his outrageous fabrications."

Klein has authored numerous political-insider books and is the former foreign editor of Newsweek, former editor-in-chief of The New York Times Magazine, and a contributing editor of Vanity Fair.

jnf: In reading between the lines there could be more than smoke and mirrors in this new "tell all" book. Obama has just canceled his appearance at the "Clinton Summit." That could be significant. It could make the decision to throw Hillary under the bus all the easier, especially if Uncle Joe announces his bid and "Cherokee" Warren gets the nod for V.P. Time will certainly tell and it won't be too long to wait.

You know the pair, special order after she fell off her porcelain throne and cracked her brain pan? Her handlers couldn't get the contact lens ready fast enough. I'm sure it was him speaking ironically. If this even occurred. I think we all know Obama holds Hillary's future in his hands, through his influence over the DOJ. He also has much less to lose, anything Hillary brought to light would incriminate her as well. He has no office to gain, She has her self imposed mandate to live out. He can destroy her without even getting his hands dirty, it's the Chicago way, that isn't taught over in Park Ridge.

With the recent news that the FBI has been able to recover data from Hilary's server, it's safe to say it wasn't wiped. Or at least not thoroughly.

So when Karla Marx™ made the "like with a rag?" statement she was being deliberately evasive (or professionally deceitful and dumb as you put it), refusing to say whether or not it was wiped. Remember, she was subpoenaed, she printed out "all" government emails, deleted her personal emails, then the drives were wiped.

If the FBI can find a single, official email that was deleted and doesn't match with list of printed emails she provided, I'm throwing myself a party.

Yeah, maybe I'm enjoying this too much. Maybe not.

I think that is so. Hillary almost certainly has the goods to bring down this entire administration, as well as most of congress. Obama almost certainly has the goods to put her away forever. If Clinton would just drop out of the election I'd guess Obama and the left would go into full protection mode to see to it Hillary never does a moment behind bars. The upside to all of this is that it may demonstrate that the left is in some disorder. Looks like a real conundrum. I think Hill is finished on the election front, but she'll never do time. Still, it's hard not to giggle.

Obama doesn't need to have his dog's attack Hillary to sink her campaign. All he needs to do is stand back and not protect her, like he normally does.

If he lets the process play out as it should, Hillary's own self-created baggage would sink her in a split second. The only reason it hasn't already happened is because there's no real alternative to her but an ancient Socialist who would get killed in the general election, so the MSM has swallowed their dislike and played easy with her.

If Biden officially joins the race or even worse Elizabeth Warren, then the media will turn on her like a pack of wild dogs and she'll be gone within a month.
